The Pulsetto Playbook For Runners

Pulsetto helps your body switch from fight-or-flight to recovery mode.
Use it when your body is winding down - after games, during travel, or before sleep.
The more consistently you use it, the faster your body learns to reset.

When

  • After practice or games
  • Before sleep
  • During travel (after games or training)
  • After dinner / rest days
  • 5+ hours before competition (only if resting)

WHY

  • Helps your body calm down, lower heart rate, and start the recovery process.
  • Promotes deeper, more restorative rest and faster regeneration.
  • Ideal on the bus or plane - helps your body shift into recovery mode sooner.
  • Supports digestion and maintains parasympathetic balance.
  • Safe to use if the body is in a calm state, not during active preparation.

Avoid using Pulsetto:

  • Right before warm-ups or during intense physical preparation.
  • While driving (stimulation may reduce alertness)

Competitive runners

Use it after training, on rest days, or before sleep to support faster recovery and deeper reset.
The more consistently you use it, the better your body adapts — improving how you recover, sleep, and perform.

Balancing marathon training with everyday life can put a lot of stress on your body and nervous system. I’ve been using Pulsetto after harder runs to help my body switch out of that ‘go-go-go’ mode and into recovery. It’s not a magic fix, but alongside good sleep, nutrition and easy runs, it’s another tool that helps me look after my body and keep showing up for training.

Francesca Evans

With being a father and training at quite a high volume, I find managing my stress and sleep are key to me being able to train to the best of my ability and still be present with my family

Michael Adenarin

I've recently incorporated Pulsetto into my daily routines & it's been a game changer for me so far. I've been using it straight after my tougher runs to help bring my body back down and rejuvenate me for the rest of the day ahead and I genuinely feel more switched on afterwards. One of my favourite features is the sleep function, it’s become part of my evening routine. Helping me properly wind down and get deeper sleep which has made a big difference to how I'm recovering overall to help me get the best out of my upcoming sessions.

Ari Petrou

- The most important form of recovery is getting good sleep- You need to recover hard in order to train hard and hit optimal perforce levels.- Take recovery seriously, especially in this fast paced world we live in.- Often I find that when life stress is low, that’s when I am able to train at my full potential.

  • Ice bath
  • Massage
  • Red light therapy
  • Breathing / meditation
How It Works Together
  • Extends the calm, regenerative phase after cooling.
  • Deepens relaxation and improves circulation recovery.
  • Adds neural balance to cellular repair.
  • Strengthens the mind-body connection and vagal response.
Remember

Consistency builds results - just like training. Use Pulsetto every day when your body is calm, and it will learn to recover faster after every game.

Simple to use, powerful results

The vagus nerve, controlling the parasympathetic nervous system, regulates vital functions. Its stimulation activates this system, enabling the body to restore balance, resulting in a calmer, less stressed, and less anxious state.

Find Your Comfortable Level

Pulsetto offers 9 adjustable stimulation levels inside the app — so you can choose what feels right for your body. There’s no “best” level. The right setting is simply the one that feels comfortable and supportive to you.

Levels 1–3

Most users describe this range as a soft tingling sensation.

It’s ideal if:

  • You’re new to stimulation

  • Your neck feels sensitive

  • You prefer a very light,
calming experience

Many people stay here — and that’s perfectly fine.

Levels 4–6

Levels 1–3 feel too subtle, this range provides a slightly stronger but still comfortable sensation.

It’s often chosen by users who:

  • Want a clearer physical sensation
  • Feel ready to increase intensity gradually

You should still feel relaxed — not strained.

Levels 7–9

Designed for users who:

  • Have lower neck sensitivity
  • Prefer a more noticeable stimulation
  • Have already adjusted comfortably to lower levels

Even here, comfort comes first. If it feels unpleasant, simply lower the level.
